Amanda Darbon (Dip.Couns, PGDipHRM)

I am a qualified counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the professional body that regulates counselling in the UK. I am also DBS checked.

My background in working for organisations across London and Kent has given me a particular understanding of the emotional challenges that many of us face including, depression, anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, bereavement, relationship and family issues. I believe that evidence based psychological therapies such as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) along with an integrative counselling approach allows flexibility in dealing with each individual’s needs. This, combined with a safe and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship is key for the process of change and recovery.

I currently work in the private and voluntary sector across North Kent having spent several years working for the well-regarded mental health charity, MIND. I have also worked with the Royal Institute of British Architects for employment/wellbeing related matters and understand the complex emotional issues arising from challenges such as redundancy, returning to work following a long break or bereavement, feeling overwhelmed with life’s demands and many other concerns. I work with adults and can offer long term and short term counselling in most aspects of personal therapy.

I adhere to the BACP ethical framework which includes the regular supervision of my practice. I am passionate about my work and am committed to making a difference to the lives of my clients. I provide a calm, safe and confidential space for us to talk.

A fee of £50 is charged for each 50 minute session of one to one counselling.
